Actor Kajal Aggarwal and entrepreneur Gautam Kitchlu tied the knot on Friday in Mumbai. The couple kept the ceremony a low-key affair with only family members and close friends in attendance.
Kajal and Gautam got married in an intimate wedding ceremony in Mumbai on October 30, 2020. Kajal had made the big announcement on her social media handles.
“It gives me immense joy to share that I am getting married to Gautam Kitchlu, on October 30, 2020 in Mumbai, in a small, private ceremony surrounded by our immediate families. This pandemic has certainly shed a sobering light on our joy, but we are thrilled to start our lives together and know that all of you will be cheering us on in spirit. I thank you for all the love you have showered upon me over the years and we seek your blessings as we embark upon this incredible new journey,” she had shared.
For her wedding, Kajal wore a red saree paired with red bangles and chooda. She paired it up with a maang tika, nose ring, tummy jewellery, and heavy golden necklace. Gautam, on the other hand, was seen in a white sherwani with a white and pink shawl.
She also explained the tradition called Jeelakarrabellam through her second post. The actress wrote, “In our Punjabi meets Kashmiri wedding, we just had to include #Jeelakarrabellam జీలకర్రాబెల్లం – a tribute to both Gautam and my individual relationships with South India!”
“In a Telugu wedding, Jeelakarra Bellam signifies the union/marriage of the bride and the groom. Jeelakarra (cumin) and bellam (jaggery) are made into a thick paste and put on a tamalapaku (betel leaf). The bride and the groom put it on each other’s head while the purohit chants mantras from the Vedas,” she informed.
“The bride and the groom look at each other only after this ceremony is completed and this auspicious signifies that the couple will stay together in bitter and sweet times,” shared Kajal, providing detailed information to her fans.
