Actor Jaya Prakash Reddy (popularly known as JP) died in Guntur on Tuesday morning after suffering a massive cardiac arrest at the age of 74, his family said. He was a legendary actor and best known for comic as well as villainous roles. He collapsed on the commode in the washroom at his Guntur residence and died instantly. He was rushed to the hospital where the doctor declared brought dead.
Jaya Prakash Reddy was well known for playing villainous and comedy roles with a typical Rayalaseema slang. For the last few months, he had been staying in Guntur as there are no shoots due to Covid-19 restrictions. He enjoyed participating in Stage plays in Gunture every week.
A native of Sirivella village in Allagadda of Kurnool district, Jaya Prakash began his career as a sub-inspector of police.Then, he got an opportunity in Brahmaputrudu film.Since then, he made acting his profession.
The veteran actor played roles in more than 100 films in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films. The last film JP had acted in was Sarileru Neekevvaru. His action as Veera Raghava Reddy in Samarasimha Reddy film brought him fame. Jayam Manade and Chennakesava Reddy were among the other hit films that established him as a villain.
