On Tuesday Hyundai Motor launched Hyundai Kona - India's first fully electric SUV at Delhi with an introductory price of Rs.25.3 lakh (ex-showroom). The dual tone color option would available at additional Rs.20,000.
According to ARAI certification, The SUV will offer a range of 452 km/charge. Using the CCS type II charging port and with DC quick charger, 80% charge can be achieved in 57 minutes. This may find at Hyundai facility in selected cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai). To set up public chargers Hyundai is collaborating with IOCL.
At home or Office, A 7.2 kW level-II AC wall box charger takes 6 hours and 10 minutes. If you want to charge the SUV by plugging a 2.8 kW portable charger into a normal wall socket. The car is equipped with an in-cable control box (ICCB) that takes 19 hours for a full charge.
The SUV is available in five colour schemes like phantom black, polar white, marina blue, typhoon silver, polar white with black roof.
The lithium-ion polymer battery with a capacity of 39.2 kWh delivers 136 PS of maximum power and 395Nm of torque. Hyundai says Kona electric is sufficiently powered to reach 100kmph from start in 9.7 seconds. The driver has Eco and Eco+, Comfort, Sports mode to choose.

Hyundai Kona Electric is available in global market in two motor trims - 100 kW (power: 39.2 kWh) and 150 (power: 64 kWh).
